Ergonomics Study
Ergonomics is the science of designing workplaces and tasks to fit the worker, aiming to improve safety, comfort, and efficiency.
Types of Ergonomics Studies
1. RULA Ergonomics Study (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment)
- Evaluates postural strain on the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and trunk.
- Assigns a numerical risk score based on body position to identify ergonomic hazards.
- Commonly used in assembly lines, office workstations, and repetitive manual tasks.
2. REBA Ergonomics Study (Rapid Entire Body Assessment)
- Analyzes the strain on multiple body regions, including the neck, trunk, legs, arms, and wrists.
- Generates an overall risk score to determine the severity of ergonomic risks.
- Used for evaluating lifting tasks, warehouse work, and physically demanding jobs.
